American Actor – Adrian Bellani

Adrian Bellani (also known as Gerardo Celasco), born April 8, 1983 in Miami, Florida, is an American actor.

Bellani was born in Miami of Italian and Salvadoran descent, and moved to El Salvador with his family. He received his schooling at the American School of El Salvador (Escuela Americana). Later studied finance in SMU (Southern Methodist University). He is most recognizable as being the second actor to play the role of Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald (a role originated in 1999 by Jesse Metcalfe of Desperate Housewives fame) on the NBC daytime drama, Passions.

Bellani spent his youth in El Salvador where he competed internationally in volleyball and equestrian competitions, as well as modeling. After graduating from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Finance, Bellani segued into the rigors of training and auditioning as an actor. He soon booked a worldwide Pepsi commercial opposite Christina Aguilera.

An admitted “homebody,” Adrian enjoys working out, playing golf, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.

Chris Olivero, born October 15, 1984 in Stockton, California, is an American actor known for his role as in the ABC Family channel program Kyle XYZ.

Olivero continually heats up the screen with roles on some of television’s hottest shows. His talent, good looks, fresh face, and piercing eyes place Chris in a category of his own. He starred in the ABC Network and ABC Family show Kyle XY. In his role, Chris plays Declan, the popular boy whose traumatic experience with the death of his brother has greatly affected his life.

Aaron Beas (real name Pedro Aarón Beas Moreno), born July 1st, is a Mexican actor.

6’2″ tall Beas is best known for appearing in televolas. His first acting stint was in the TV series “Yo no creo en los hombres” (1988). Thereafter, he has appeared in dozens of successful Mexican telenovelas including “María Mercedes” (1992); “Mirada de mujer: El regreso” (2003) and “La Vida es una canción” (2004/2005), to name a few.

Aside from his acting career, Beas also does modeling on the side. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Andrew’s dedication to his community became apparent as a high school student in South Orange, New Jersey. As Student Council President, he created a lasting solution to a contemporary problem by founding Students Serving Seniors to assist local senior citizens by linking them with high school students from the community.

After graduating from Dartmouth College as a history major and as All-American soccer player, Andrew spent a year in Zimbabwe, where he taught high school math and played soccer with the Bulawayo Highlanders, the Zimbabwe national champions.

Andrew returned to the US in 1990 to train as an actor in New York City. His acting career has grown from small parts in such feature films as “Adventures in Babysitting” and “The Karate Kid” to a primetime role on “Melrose Place”, currently in its fifth season. Adam Brody was born on December 15, 1979 in San Diego, California. Brody spent a lot of his teen years hanging out with his friends, having fun and surfing. Upon graduation, he convinced his parents to allow him to attend college in Los Angeles.

Alex (Alexander) Dimitriades was born on December 28, 1973 in Sydney.

His parents immigrated to Australia from Greece, but divorced when he was twelve. Alex’s got a brother, George, and a sister, Melissa, and went to an all boys school with uniforms and strict teachers, but liked it there.

He likes good documentaries, travelling, playing rugby league and soccer, and listening to music (New York house and Junio Rough Groove). His favourite films are The One And Only, The Legendary and Scarface, and his favourite actors are Meryl Streep, Al Pacino and Robert de Niro. The most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to him is being thrown over a fence into somebody’s backyard pool by a group of friends at twelve.

When Alex was 17 and a high-school student in a Sydney suburb, the casting director of The Heartbreak Kid visited his school looking for someone to play the lead role of Nick Polides, and Alex, who’d never acted before but thought he’d give it a try for a laugh, went to audition.

Being in big productions – first the film, then the television series – was fairly daunting, but as Alex’s own family is Greek and Nick’s personality is quite like his, he could understand and identify with Nick straight away. Alex found it easy to play a character with so much energy.

He was the first real star of Heartbreak High and very popular, but his character Nick died in the last episode of series 1 because Alex wanted too much money for his role. Producers Gannon and Jenkins much wanted him to stay, but the television station wouldn’t allow it. Because the viewers never actually saw Nick die, rumours of his return kept going.

Once he had left the show Alex appeared in the film The Blonde Man in 1994, in G.P. in 1996, and in stage production Wogboys. Moreover, Alex played Ari, who uses hard drugs and has rough sex with other men, in the 1998 film Head On. After he’d read the book the movie is based on, Loaded by Christos Tsiolkas, he was impressed but freaked out. The movie’s sex scenes were scary for Alex, and he was worried about being too convincing, though he’d never kissed a man before.
The critics were rapt: “his performance is sensational”, “we’ve seen some great performances from Australian actors before, but how many of them have been this good?”, “he has a great future as an actor ahead of him and this film is a milestone which will bring him to the attention of the international market”.

After making the film Alex considered giving up acting, but didn’t, and he now laughs at the idea. He’s only become more successful, and got scripts from America.

American Actor and Athlete – Arlen Escarpeta

Arlen Escarpeta, born April 9, 1981, is an African American actor and athlete.

Not many people can star on the gridiron and stage at the same time but Arlen Escarpeta managed to balance both a few years ago, serving as captain of the football team while performing in several drama productions as part of the arts-magnet program at Hollywood High School.

“Fortunately, I didn’t have to make a choice,” says Escarpeta, who also ran track and sang at his graduation ceremonies. “I had a very understanding football coach…I suppose it helped that one of the coaches was an actor too!”

Escarpeta is a native of Belize (formerly British Honduras) in Central America who came to the United States after his father, a construction worker, died when he was 3. His mother, a manager for a dental office, settled in Los Angeles where her young son began to sing and dance in the Young Saints Scholarship Foundation. At 9, Escarpeta was cast in the title role of his elementary school’s stylized production of “Hamlet” and was won over by the applause he received at the final curtain.

From there, Escarpeta attended several arts magnet schools in Los Angeles until he arrived at Hollywood High, where he honed his skills in dance, technical and music theater, and drama. He has since attended Pasadena City College for more than two years while studying sociology. Despite swift times of 21.8 seconds running the 200-yard dash and a personal best of 47’- 2 ½” in the triple jump — he opted to concentrate on acting rather than dedicate the necessary amount of time to the junior college’s track team.

“I’ve realized how much my knowledge of sociology can help me prepare for a role,” says Escarpeta, who was also prominently seen in the pilot of NBC’s “Boomtown” as the doomed Cantrel. “Studying different cultures can benefit my acting so that I can know them better.”

Escarpeta’s career has skyrocketed recently with guest-starring roles on the TV series “Boston Public,” “Judging Amy” and in an epsode of “The Shield.” His feature-film work includes “High Crimes” (starring Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman). His independent feature, “The Playaz Court” was released in 2003, and Escarpeta will costar with Forest Whitaker in the upcoming IFC Films’ “American Gun.”

On “American Dreams,” Escarpeta portrays a teenager – who also runs track and plays basketball – at the University of Pennsylvannia during the social turmoil of the 1960s. “He’s very close to who I am,” he says. “He has a sense of humor and has something to say about his world then and I have something to say about ours today.”

In his leisure time, Escarpeta prefers to draw cartoon characters (“I’m a cartoon fanatic”), read non-fiction and restore his 1964 Volkswagen Beetle sedan. He’s also a Los Angeles Laker and Dallas Cowboy fan, and remains active working for the Young Saints Scholarship Foundation.
