This October after Miss Internationalwas heavily contested in Japan , Miss Earth is percolating in the Philippines and early report said the finals will be made at the UP Theater on November 11, 2007. On the male side, Mr. Handsome International 2007 is painting the town red as Dominican Republic played host again to this new pageant, and this is their fourth consecutive year to be exact. I just want to take this opportunity to thank friends like Julio Rodriguez and Alberto Maneiro Restrepo for being generous enough to share the whole world awesome pictures that make Mr. Handsome International one contest we could not ignore. This workaholic duo are the head honcho of major beauty pageants in Venezuela, and without their efforts, maybe we are in limbo again. The photos they have taken for us remind us there is more to the contest that meets the eye. They are the witness to the backstage drama , and their individual sessions with the candidates makes the experience more tangible, we felt we are also a part of the experience. To Julio and Alberto, more power … and more success.

American Actor – Peter Porte

Peter Porte, born 1985 in Greenwood Lake, New York, is an American actor.

Porte graduated in New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2006 with a degree in Drama and Journalism.

After acting in a travelling production of “Mamma Mia” for a year and a half and finishing graduate school at the Fashion Institute Of Technology, Porte decided to move to Los Angeles in 2008. The day after he got off that plane, he got a guest spot on the TV series “Medium.”

Not long after, Porte guest-starred in various television series including “Viralcom” and the hit series “CSI: Miami”.

The pageant season is here, just like the advent of summer . And from both side now … male and female pageant continue to inundate us … and it looks like they are here to stay … to give you warm summer nights and something to look forward to when weekends are tedious and wearisome.
And just like this excited reader who emailed us the images above, he just want to share to us the “can’t-be-ignored-photos-in-the-net” who in his simple way, his action will remind Man Central not to forget to include them in the features. He said they are the candidates of Mr. Sexy Body 2011 … and it looks like his excitement has the bodies of evidence. And we agree the batch looks promising and reassuring.

Oliver James, born June 1, 1980 in Ottershaw, Surrey, UK, is an actor.

He is best known for starring on such movies as What a Girl Wants (2003) and Raise Your Voice (2004).

Oliver went to Guildford School of Acting in Surrey to learn the trade. His main reason to enroll as an acting major at the time was so he could attend the same school as his then-girlfriend.

He had only been working for a year before he snagged his role as Ian Wallace in What a Girl Wants. His only real work before that had been in British commercials and stage productions. His own songs appear on the What a Girl Wants (2003) soundtrack.

After What a Girl Wants hit the big screen, everyone wanted to know who the British babe was. Lucky for Oliver, he then starred in a teen flick Raise Your Voice alongside Hilary Duff.

Oliver enjoys playing the guitar a lot. In “What a Girl Wants”, he plays the guitar. And in “Raise Your Voice” he plays the acoustic guitar.

Prior to becoming an actor, Oliver worked as a musician. Up until the moment he was cast in What a Girl Wants, Oliver James was rehearsing with a British boyband. But when he got the part of Ian Wallace, he left the unnamed group.

Orlando Bloom was born in Canterbury, Kent, England on January 13, 1977. (In Spanish, Orlando translates to “Land of Gold.”) The man he briefly knew as his father, Harry Bloom, was a legendary political activist who fought for civil rights in South Africa. But Harry died of a stroke when Orlando was only four years old. After that, Orlando and his older sister Samantha were raised by their mother, Sonia, and family friend, Colin Stone. When Orlando was 13, Sonia revealed to him that Colin was actually his biological father.

Orlando attended St. Edmunds School in Canterbury, but struggled in many courses because of dyslexia. He did embrace the arts, however, and enjoyed pottery, photography and sculpturing. He also participated in school plays and was active at his local theater. As a teen, Orlando landed his first job he was a clay trapper at a pigeon shooting range. Encouraged by his mother, he and his sister began studying poetry and prose, eventually giving readings at Kent Festival. Orlando and Samantha won many poetry and Bible reciting competitions. Then Orlando, who always idolized larger-than-life characters, gravitated towards serious acting. At the age of 16, he moved to London and joined the National Youth Theatre, spending two seasons there and gaining a scholarship to train with the British American Drama Academy. Like many young actors, he also auditioned for a number of television roles to further his career, landing bit parts in British television shows “Casualty”, “Midsomer Murders” and “Smack the Pony”. He even appeared in the critically acclaimed movie “Wilde”.

He then attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. It was there, in 1998, that Orlando fell three stories from a rooftop terrace and broke his back. Despite fears that he would be permanently paralyzed, he quickly recovered and returned to the stage. As fate would have it, seated in the audience one night in 1999 was a director named Peter Jackson. After the show, he met with Orlando and asked him to audition for his new set of movies. After graduating from Guildhall, Orlando began work on the Lord of the Rings, spending 18 months in New Zealand bringing to life “Legolas”, a part which would make him a household name. Today Orlando is one of the busiest and most sought after actors in the industry.

The son of a Spanish-Moroccan boxer and a French secretary, Martinez was born and raised in a working-class suburb of Paris. Though he aimed to follow the paternal tradition of becoming a professional fighter then a mechanic, Martinez’s plans changed after he was injured in a car wreck. Passing an audition for the Conservatoire National Superieur d’Art Dramatique, Martinez began to study acting at age 23.

Shortly after he finished school, Martinez’s performance in a Paris production of Eugene O’Neill’s play Desire Under the Elms landed him his first major film role, co-starring with French icon Yves Montand in Jean-Jacques Beineix’s adventure IP5 (1992). Confirming his status as a rising French star, Martinez acted opposite Italian legend Marcello Mastroianni in Bertrand Blier’s experimental Un, Deux, Trois Soleil (1993) and won the César for Most Promising Actor. Martinez’s next film, The Horseman on the Roof (1995), though, earned him billing as the “French Brad Pitt.” As an Italian revolutionary on the run in 19th century France, Martinez shared sizzling onscreen chemistry with co-star Juliette Binoche and got his first taste of tabloid attention when the two became an offscreen item as well. A European hit, The Horseman on the Roof also put Martinez on the American art-house map.

Disdainful of Hollywood and hardly fluent in English, Martinez followed his Horseman triumph with a smaller role in Blier’s black comedy Mon Homme (1996). Martinez hit the international art-house circuit again as a man who concocts an imaginary affair with the title character in Bigas Luna’s The Chambermaid on the Titanic (1997), but his next European films, The Slammer (1999), The City of Marvels (1999), and Toreros (2000), did not have as much exposure. Martinez’s career took another key turn, however, when he played the small but vital role of Lazaro in Julian Schnabel’s superb biopic Before Night Falls (2000). As a friend deeply involved in Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas’ troubled life, Martinez earned accolades particularly for the restrained, moving death scene with star Javier Bardem.

Softening his views on the U.S. during filming, aided perhaps by girlfriend and subsequent Semana Santa (2002) co-star Mira Sorvino, Martinez then starred in the American indie Western Bullfighter (2001). He won his first major Hollywood role when Lyne’s daughter brought him to the director’s attention. Though the part was originally written for an American, Lyne deemed Martinez a believable lust object for someone married to Richard Gere, altered the nationality, and Martinez became bored housewife Diane Lane’s fatal attraction in Unfaithful. Continuing his run as foreign eye candy for women, Martinez was cast as Helen Mirren’s Italian gigolo in the TV remake of The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone (2002). Assuming the role of the Italian gigolo played by Warren Beatty in the feature film version, Martinez again revealed his gift for playing an alluring, cold-hearted paramour with his performance as older, wealthy lady Helen Mirren’s fatal attraction.

Adding another decidedly “Hollywood” project to his credits, Martinez subsequently ditched his Euro boy toy trappings and joined Colin Farrell, LL Cool J and Michelle Rodriguez on the crack police team organized by Samuel L. Jackson in the summer action movie S.W.A.T. (2003).

I received another email from another excited Man Central reader with some pageant candidates to feature this week. This time they are the candidates competing for Mr. Pacific World Philippines 2011.
I googled the pageant and the information I get was that that this is the first time ever the contest was held. The press presentation was held at Centerstage Bar and Restaurant at Timog Quezon City last March 5, 2011. And I heard the winner of the contest will be sent to Bogota Colombia and he will represent the Philippines in the Mr. Pacific World 2011 which will take place some time in July. (P. S. South Korean Actor – Oh Ji-ho

Oh Ji-ho, born April 1, 1976, in Chun Nam Region, is a South Korean actor.

Ji-ho completed his educationat Anyang University. It was not long for him to receive his first role. In fact, he received his first job after his very first audition and in 1998, he debuted in his first movie Kka. His other movie credits include: Love Trilogy (2004); Silver Knife (2003); I Love You (2001) and La Belle (2000).

Ji-ho has also appeared in many successful TV series: Thanks Life (KBS, 2006); Autumn Shower (MBC, 2005); Super Rookie (MBC, 2005), and Second Proposal (KBS, 2004), to mention a few. In 2004, he won Best Supporting Actor for KBS Drama Award.
