Fernando Carrillo Roselli, born January 6, 1966 in Caracas, is a Venezuelan actor.

Charismatic and handsome, Fernando Carrillo is, since his first appearances in the 1980s, one of the most important figures of Hispanic television. His successes have been continuous and gain more relevance one after the other. His presence awakens the reverence of the feminine audiences and the admiration of men that have identified with the aggressive Latin talent of this symbol of masculinity.

From Venezuela, where he was born, to Manila, where he is the favorite leading man, an audience of more than 500 million spectators is witness of the brilliant story of this consecrated actor who already belongs to three worlds: Latin, European and Asiatic. And now he goes for more. Following great stars like Antonio Banderas, Penélope Cruz and Salma Hayek, he gets ready for the final conquest of Hollywood. After his brilliant debut on American television in the series The Ponderosa, the count is on for his appearance on the big screen. The story of this young artist is that of a human being who always knew what he wanted and of his faithful struggle to make all his dreams come true. His next step is his consecration in the Golden Mecca, where he is already known as the Latin Johnny Depp.

After becoming a member of the prestigious Academia de Artes Televisivas y Ciencias in Venezuela, his time to come out to center stage arrives. At 17 he is offered his first costarring role, in 1986, in the mini-series Mansión de Luxe with actress Maricarmen Regueiro. That same year, the doors to the grand stage of Latin TV, the telenovelas (soap operas), open for him. Together with Carlos Mata and Jeannette Rodríguez he achieves his first success in La Dama de Rosa.

It is at this point in his career when Fernando is sure that he will achieve not only being a great actor, but that he will also develop the multiplicity of fields that his career will put in front of him. And he discovers a talent that is his naturally: his seductiveness. Throughout his work he impacts an audience by using his form, his movements and his way of looking, all of which were absent from the screen until his arrival.

From 1987 to 1990 he stars in three mini-series: La Muchacha del Circo; Amor Marcado, based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet; and El Amor en los Tiempos de Gómez. This proved an opportunity of enrichment for his talent and of consecration as the favorite of his audience. The moment of international expansion came in 1988. The European and Asian worlds, dazzled by Hispanic telenovelas, give a definitive “yes” to the leading man. Together with Gigi Zancheta and produced by Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV,) he stars in Primavera, the soap opera that reaches simultaneously 70 countries in six different languages.
