Teen Horror Film – Chace Crawford

Chase Crawford, born July 18, 1985, in Lubbock, Texas, is an American actor, best known for his roles in the supernatural teen horror film “The Covenant” and in the television teen drama “Gossip Girl”.

Crawford played football and golf in high school and is a talented artist. He graduated from Trinity Christian Academy in 2003. Although he worked as a model in Dallas, he never pursued acting.

Crawford moved to Malibu, California to attend Pepperdine University after high school where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He struggled to identify a career path, vacillating between advertising, business and communications majors. Midway through his second year, his mother encouraged him to pursue acting. He credits her for initiating this bold move. She states that “it was a practical move,” based on career aptitude test he had taken in high school which revealed he was best suited for a career in the performing arts.

Crawford was signed by the first talent agent that interviewed him and then committed full-time to acting studies. His first acting role came in 2006, when he made an impression on moviegoers as a prep-school warlock in Renny Harlin’s supernatural teen horror film “The Covenant” before portraying the missing teen whose belated reunion with his mother sparks a series of troubling questions in the made for television mystery “Long Lost Son.”

While his million dollar smile and azure gaze virtually ensured a steady teen fan-base, Crawford proved that he wasn’t afraid to tarnish his Tiger Beat image by appearing as a hard-partying club kid in director Alan Pao’s lurid 2007 crime drama “Loaded”.

In 2007, Crawford got his big break when he landed the role as Nate Archibald in the CW series “Gossip Girl” and in 2008, he is scheduled to appear in the movie “She Lived”.
