When I learned that Katy Perry was dating Russel Brand months ago, I was actually one of those who, at that time, did not get what the attraction was. Russel definitely had the rock star look but in Hollywood, that would be dime a dozen.
Fast forward to now – after watching two movies with him in it – Hop, where he was the voice over for the rabbit, and in Arthur, where he played the main character – I realize now that – even through the characters he is playing, there is a certain genuiness to the guy. I was actually rooting for his characters in both those movies. They were not exactly easy characters to embrace, but they were genuine – and honest with their feelings and motivations.
It’s good that these movies have come out to show what this guy is capable of doing. Because sometimes, that rock star facade may just be that – a facade!
