German Actor – Kostja Ullmann

Kostja Ullmann, born 1984 in Hamburg, is a German actor, best known for his leading role in the award-winning coming of age drama, “Sommersturm” (Summer Storm).

Ullmann entered the stage at the age of eleven and performed at Hamburg’s Ernst-Deutsch-Theater and Winterhuder Fährhaus. In 1998, he made his TV debut in a minor part in the crime series “Alphateam”.

In the following years, Ullmann starred in several minor roles in TV series such as “Stahlnetz”, “Großstadtrevier”, and “SOKO Leipzig” as well as in TV movies such as the drama “Albtraum einer Ehe” (2001) alongside August Zirner.

From 1999 to 2000, he was a cast member of the comedy series “Zwei Männer am Herd” with Wolfgang Fierek and Florian Fitz.

In 2004, Kostja Ullmann made his movie debut in a leading role in Marco Kreuzpaintner’s award-winning film “Sommersturm” (“Summer Storm”). His performance in the romantic TV drama “Heimliche Liebe” about the relationship of a schoolboy and an older woman won Ullmann the “Günther-Strack-Fernsehpreis” as “Best actor” in 2006.

In his second movie, “Verfolgt” (2006), Ullmann stars in a similar role. Directed by Angelina Maccarone, he plays a young delinquent who engages in an “amour fou” with his probation officer who is 30 years older than him. The film won a “Golden Leopard” at the 2006 Locarno International Film Festival.

Kayky Brito (real name: Kayky Fernandes de Brito), born October 6, 1988, in São Paulo, Brazil, is a Brazilian actor.

Brito made his acting debut in 2003 in the soap opera “Chocolate com Pimenta” for which was nominated for Contigo’s supporting actor award. The following year, he won for Contigo’s most promising actor award, for his part in “O Beijo do Vampiro.”

Since then, Brito has landed numerous telenovela roles including “Três Irmãs,” “Chiquititas Brasil,” “Xuxa Abracadabra,” “A Diarista,” “Começar de Novo,” “Alma Gêmea,” “Cobras & Lagartos,” and “Sete Pecados” and also acted in a theater production of “A Ordem Natural das Coisas.”

Aside from acting, Brito also models on the side, appearing in TV commercials for “Carrefur” in 2004, “Havaianas” in 2006 and graced the pages of “Atrevida” magazine.

Kevin McKidd, born August 9, 1973, in Elgin, Moray, Scotland, is a Scottish actor.

McKidd is best known for his prominent television roles, including his performances as Lucius Vorenus on “Rome”, as Dan Vasser on “Journeyman”, and as Dr. Owen Hunt on “Grey’s Anatomy”.

McKidd’s first professional role was in the television series “Father Ted”; he played Father Deegan in the 1996 episode “A Christmassy Ted”. Some of his subsequent roles include Tommy in Trainspotting and Malky Johnson in Small Faces, with Iain Robertson.

He appeared in Kingdom of Heaven and others might know him from Neil Marshall’s horror film, “Dog Soldiers”, as Pvt. Cooper. In the 2005 BBC drama, “The Virgin Queen”, he played Thomas Howard, “4th Duke of Norfolk”.

Additional work includes his role in the Silence of the Lambs prequel Hannibal Rising (2007). As of 2009, McKidd appears on “Grey’s Anatomy” as Dr. Owen Hunt.

Born in Bossier City, Louisiana, in 1971, Jared lived with mother Constance (remarried), brother Shannon (photographer and actor) and two half-brothers (of deceased father).

Jared attended school, but admittedly hung around with the “freaks” In tenth grade he left school, only to go on to graduate from Flint Hill Preparatory in Oakton, VA. He eventually found his passion for acting and attended the School Of Visual Arts in New York. While there he starred in his own movie…”Crying Joy”.

In 1992 he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. In 1994, he got his big in the TV series My So-Called Life, starring opposite Claire Danes as her love interest Jordan Catalano, a shy, mysterious boy that made him a sex symbol with the girls.

His debut feature film came the following year in How to Make an American Quilt, also with Claire Danes, and the following year he co-starred in Last of the High Kings which was eventually only released on video. By this time Hollywood producers were beginning to notice him and he was giving the leading role in Prefontaine, playing the title character.

In 1998 Jared came across his first big budget box office hit, with Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line and made sure that his face and name became engraved on the cinema-goers minds with his role in Urban Legend.

A string of small roles in high-profile films followed. Acting alongside heavyweights Brad Pitt and Ed Norton, Jared was the blond Angel Face of David Fincher’s Fight Club.

Television Drama – Jesse Metcalfe

Jesse Metcalfe is best known to television audiences for his role as Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald on the daytime drama Passions.

Metcalfe grew up in Waterford, CT and attended New York University, where he studied film and acting at the Tisch School of the Arts, with the goal of one day becoming a director. He also worked as a model, doing commercial and print work for such publications as Seventeen and YM.

After graduation his modeling agency sent him on an open-call audition for the daytime NBC soap opera Passions, where he won the role of Miguel over hundreds of other actors. He also appeared in the FX television movie 44 Minutes: A Shoot Out in North Hollywood, and in a recurring role on Smallville. This fall Jesse Metcalfe will appear in the hour long ABC drama “Desperate Housewives”.

In his spare time, Metcalfe enjoys playing guitar and writing music. An avid basketball player, he has participated in “The Hollywood Knights,” a charitable team that raises money for high schools throughout Southern California.
