French motorcycle road racer – Randy de Puniet

Randy de Puniet, born February 14, 1981 in Andresy, is a French motorcycle road racer.

De Puniet was a French 125cc champion in 1998, moving up to the world championship a year later. In 2001, he moved up to the 250cc World Championship.

De Puniet earned two podium finishes in 2002 to earn a factory Aprilia ride for 2003. He took his first win at Catalunya, coming 4th overall with 3 wins. In 2004, De Puniet was third with a single win, spending 2005 with an Aprilia ran by Jorge Martinez Aspar.

De Puniet’s first season in MotoGP was in 2006 for the Kawasaki factory team. At Barcelona, he took his first front-row start, and finished a career-best for fifth place. Up to Donington, he has started all but one other race on the third row. He started 4th and finished 2nd at Motegi.

In 2007, De Puniet signed a two-year contract with LCR Honda and will be joining the satellite Honda MotoGP team in 2008.

Ray, 19 years old, is AAG’s first model for 2009. He is an aspiring fitness model with lots of personality and charisma. He’s originally from Miami, FL but now resides in the Tampa Bay area. At the age of 17, Ray entered his first bodybuilding contest, winning first place. He plans to compete one final time in Summer of 2009, and hopes to repeat his victory.

Arsenal football player – Robin van Persie

Robin van Persie, born August 6, 1983 in Rotterdam, is a Dutch footballer currently playing at English FA Premier League team Arsenal as a striker. He can play as a striker (as he normally does for Arsenal) or on either wing, as he primarily does for the Netherlands.

Van Persie began his career as a youth player for Dutch side Excelsior Rotterdam and later Feyenoord Rotterdam, earning caps in the process for Netherlands U19 and U21 teams. He was unexpectedly called up to Feyenoord’s injury plagued first-team squad soon after he signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the club in January 2002. His performances with Feyenoord, including his playing an integral part in the 3-2 UEFA Cup final victory over Borussia Dortmund at the De Kuip on May 8, 2002, earned him the prestigious Best Young Talent award offered by the Dutch PFA for the 2001-02 season.

As a result of a back injury suffered during the summer of 2002, there was uncertainty as to whether Van Persie could start the new season. Van Persie, however, showed no such worries come the beginning of the season, scoring 8 goals in 28 league games as well as playing twice in the UEFA Champions League. Despite his talent Robin Van Persie had a difficult relationship with the Feyenoord manager Bert van Marwijk, a strict discipliniarian, who sent him home on the eve of the European Super Cup against Real Madrid in Monaco.

Robin Van Persie received his first full international cap against Romania on 4th June 2005. Despite not being an automatic first choice to start for Arsenal, Van Persie was selected as one of Holland’s forwards for the 2006 FIFA World Cup by national coach Marco Van Basten. His first World Cup goal came in the group match against Côte d’Ivoire, a powerfully-struck free kick in the 23rd minute. He has now played twelve times for the Netherlands, scoring two goals.

Van Persie’s mother is a teacher and his father an artist. His father brought him up as a single parent. He grew up in a rough neighbourhood of Rotterdam alongside its large immigrant population.

Race Car Driving Athlete – Ralf Schumacher

Ralf Schumacher was born on 30th June 1975 in Hürth-Hermülheim, a suburb of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia. Motivated by his older brother Michael, he had his first experiences in go-carting at the age of three.

In 1992 he took part in the German carting championship competitions and won second place. In 1993 he entered the Junior-Championship competitions of the German Automobile Club (ADAC) and once again came in second. In the following year he drove in Formula 3 and won third place. In 1996 Ralf Schumacher participated in the Japanese Formula championships and won. On the basis of his success he was offered a contract as a driver with the Jordan Formula 1 team for the 1997 season. He made his Formula 1 debut on 9th March 1997 during the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. In 1999 Ralf Schumacher joined the Williams team for which he is driving now.

Ralf lives in Salzburg, Austria. His hobbies are carting, playing tennis and cycling. His favourite food is pasta and his favourite drink is apple juice mixed with sparkling water.

Having participated in the Grand Prix 83 times Ralf Schumacher has obtained 135 world champion points and one pole position. He claims three victories his own. Today Ralf Schumacher is regarded as one of the most promising young driving talents.

Handsome Man – Saulo Melo

I first bumped into Saulo Melo back in January during the shows at Fashion Rio. Then I was happy to see him gracing the pages of Out magazine for their swimsuit extravaganza shot in Rio. This week I found out that he was booked for the upcoming and much talked about Latin edition of Vanity Fair magazine, photographed in Rio by Mr. Testino. AND here are some exclusive behind the scenes pictures from the shoot.

Another boy from Terra – one of my most anticipated postings each month.  Just in time for summer (or winter in some places), things are heatin’ up with Saulo Melo, a 19 year old from Niterói, Rio de Janeiro.  What I like so much about Terra’s pictures is that they are so natural – in lighting, in character, in feeling.  And Saulo couldn’t be more “real”… with the little scrapes on the knees, the tan line, etc.  Definitely another winner!  Be sure to check back for more pics and the “making of video”.
