Italian Actor and Model – Raffaello Balzo

Raffaello Balzo, born in Artegna, Udine, Italy on March 18, 1975, is an Italian actor and model.

Balzo lived at Artegna, a small town in the province of Udine, until the age of 18. Very close to his family, he remembers with affection his grandmother who, during the 1976 earthquake in the Friuli region, saved him from the rubble of the house that was collapsing around him and in doing so leaped to fame in the newspaper headlines.

Balzo was encouraged by his friends to make his debut in showbusiness, taking part in 1995 in the beauty contest “Photographic Model of the Year” and winning the national title. In the same year, he finished his studies at technical college and gained his diploma with a mark of 56 out of 60.

In 1998, Balzo won the title “Mr Friuli”. The recognition he got encouraged him in the following year to take part in the most important national contest for men, “The handsomest man in Italy”, winning the national final by a unanimous vote. For Raffaello, the doors to showbusiness were thrown wide open. He moved to Milan and began working as a model for the most important Italian and foreign designers, among whom Gianfranco Ferré, Versace, Ermenegildo Zegna, Vivienne Westwood, and treading in the process the catwalks of the whole world – London, Rome, New York.

Alongside his modelling career, Balzo has constantly committed himself to elocution and drama studies, strongly desiring a future in television and cinema. His first television appearance was as “Carramba Boy”, alongside Raffaella Carrà in the Rai Uno transmission “Carramba che fortuna!”

In December 2000, Balzo was cast as the star of “Schoolmates”, a Rai Due drama series in 12 episodes, working with experienced and talented actors like Massimo Lopez. It was Raffaello’s first real chance to put himself to the test and show off his talents.

In August 2002, Balzo was chosen as the new star of the soap “A Place in the Sun” (set in Naples), playing the role of physiotherapist, Matteo Consoli. Working in this soap was for a real training ground, through a daily engagement in which he was able to train to make his character real and credible, and which enabled him to express character and personality. The public learned to recognise him and grow fond of him, paying Raffaello back with affection and recognition for all the hard work and commitment he had put into the role. The intense experience lasted three years, after which he left Naples and moved to Rome.

In 2002, the noted film director Cinzia T H Torrini noticed Balzo’s talent and chose him to play the role of Armand Benac in the TV drama series, “Elisa di Rivombrosa 2”. That great opportunity was a turning point in Raffaello’s career and he was definitively recognised as an up-and-coming talent in Italian cinema.

In September 2006, after numerous successes, Balzo was chosen by Simona Ventura as one of the shipwrecked in the fourth edition of the reality show “L’Isola dei famosi” (Island of the Celebrities). Surviving in extreme conditions would be his next challenge, in which he would make himself known not as an actor, but simply as Raffaello.

Balzo is 6′ 2″ tall. During his spare time, he loves to go to the beach and play soccer, which is his number one hobby.

American Actor – Ryan Carnes

Ryan Carnes was born and raised in Pitsfield, Illinois, a small, rural community of 4,300. After dedicating the better part of his formative years to sports, music, and academia, Ryan finally found the thespian within. With the encouragement of his current manager Jon Simmons, he made the giant leap to Los Angeles.

In 2003, Ryan did a national campaign for Nintendo, both in print and commercials. Since then, Ryan has dedicated himself to studying his craft and pursuing his dream to be a working actor.

Ryan’s break came just last year (2004), when he landed the recurring role of Lucas on General Hospital.

Though he’s straight, Ryan is comfortable playing gay roles. His first gay role, Ryan did full-frontal nudity in the 2004 indie gay comedy “Eating Out” directed by Allan Brocka which is garnering good reviews. And now, he’s screwing Bree Van de Kamp’s son (Shawn Pyfrom) on ABC’s Desperate Housewives.

An accomplished drummer for 15 years, Ryan also writes lyrics and is currently collaborating with several other musicians on their first project.

Rick Yune is a first-generation American; his parents came to the United States from Korea in 1972. He was born in Washington, DC ,and educated at the Wharton School of Business.

To raise cash for his studies, Rick tried several jobs and was persuaded to become a photographic model in his spare time. The modeling work escalated to such an extent that it became his principal source of income during his education years. Working with photographer Bruce Weber, he was the first Asian-American model to work for leading companies such as Versace and Polo Sport. He also filmed a commercial with Cindy Crawford.

His plan at the time was to go into finance, and after college he served for a time as a trader with an investment bank, handling millions of dollars every day. As much as he enjoyed the cut and thrust of international finance, however, it was never his intention of spending his entire life as a trader.

Maintaining contact with his model agency, Rick was asked to meet movie director Scott Hicks, who was about to make a film called Snow Falling on Cedars. Rick made his motion picture debut with that film in 1999. He went on to appear in The Fast and the Furious and The Fence before joining the cast of Die Another Day this year.

A keen athlete, Rick qualified for the Olympic Trials in Tae Kwon Do (a Korean martial art) when he was 19. He changed his last name from Yun to Yune for the Screen Actors Guild when he joined the acting profession.

Sahil Khan, born in Kolkata and brought up in Delhi, is an Indian actor.

Khan was discovered by film maker N. Chandra who after having written many tales with box-office hits like ANKUSH, PRATIGHAAT, TEZAAB, NARSIMHA and others has reverted to making average budgeted films, after the debacle of his last WAJOOD starring Nana Patekar, Madhuri Dixit and others. He hit the bulls eye with a funnier film called STYLE and this gave birth to a new actor called Sahil Khan.

It was at the instance of his physical trainer Sachin Dandekar, he got introduced to video director Sanjay F. Gupta who cast him in a music video album of T- Series’s OH! LAILA. Writer-producer-director N. Chandra, then was on the look-out for a fresh face for his earlier film STYLE! and he found Sahil Khan dancing in one of the music numbers…. “Naachenge saare raat…” played on various television channels, as one of the contender for the lead role. It was during the workshop with Anil Chaudhary, the famous theatre personality from Delhi, found Sahil to fit in like a hand in glove and strongly recommended him to N. Chandra. That was just the beginning.

Sahil Khan laughed his way into the hearts of people after his roles in Style and its sequel Excuse Me. Sahil Khan’s Debut film was N. Chandra’s Style in 2001 opposite Shilpi Mudgal. Then in 2003 Xcuse Me released. Some of his other films include, Double Cross in 2005. His onscreen presence has created an impact on lots of his fans. Despite all the fame that he has achieved, Sahil is down to earth and is known as one of the friendliest celebs in the town.

Ryan Reynolds is a Canadian actor born 23 October 1976 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Ryan is the youngest of four children and is 6’3″.

His father, Jim, was a Vancouver food wholesaler. His mother, Tammy, was a retail-store saleswoman. Between 1991-93, Ryan taped “Fifteen” (1991), a “cheesy” Nickleodeon series, in Florida.

After the series ended, he returned to Vancouver where he played in a series of forgettable Tv movies. He did catch roles in Glenn Close’s Serving in Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story (1995) (TV) and CBS’s update of In Cold Blood (1996) (TV). However, his run of luck had led him to decide to quit acting. One night, he ran into fellow Vancouver actor & native Chris Martin. Martin found Ryan rather despondent and told him to pack everything, they were going to head to L.A.

The two stayed in a cheap L.A. motel. On the first night of their stay, Reynold’s jeep was rolled down hill and stripped. For the next four months, Ryan drove it without doors.

In 1997, he landed the role in “Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place” (1998). Initially, the show was reviled by critics and seemed shaky for any type of ratings success. But it was renewed for a second season, but with a provision for a makeover by former “Roseanne” (1988) writer Kevin Abbott. The show became a minor success and has led to additional film roles.

Ryan is probably best known for the movie Van Wilder by National Lampoon, though he also starred for three years in the American TV series Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place playing med student Michael Bergen (nicknamed Berg). Ryan Reynolds also had a cameo in 2004’s Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle playing a male nurse.

Ryan has also appeared in the Canadian production Foolproof (2003) and The In-Laws, with Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks. In 2004, he co-starred in the action/horror flick Blade: Trinity, as Hannibal King. His latest film role sees him playing George Lutz in the 2005 remake of The Amityville Horror.

He is engaged to marry singer Alanis Morissette.

Shawn Ashmore, born October 7, 1979 in Richmond, British Columbia, is a Canadian actor.

Ashmore is famous for playing the role of Bobby Drake (Iceman) in X-Men and its sequels X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand.

Ashmore guest-starred in two episodes of Smallville and had a starring role on Animorphs as Jake Berenson.

In December of 2004, Ashmore landed the lead role in the SciFi Channel mini series Legend of Earthsea, based on the novels by Ursula K. Le Guin. He played the role of Ged, a young wizard-in-training, who takes advice from Ogion (Danny Glover) and falls in love with Tenar (Kristin Kreuk), the protege of the High Priestess of the Tombs of Atuan (Isabella Rossellini).

Scott Caan, born August 23, 1976, in Los Angeles, California, USA, is an American actor.

Prior to acting, Caan was a roadie for bands Cypress Hill and House of Pain, and a member of the Hip-Hop group The Whooliganz, before enrolling at the Playhouse West in Los Angeles.

Caan began acting in the late 1990s, appearing in a number of independent and low-budget films. His first acting role came when he was 19 years old for the role of Sean in “Aaron Gillespie Will Make You a Star.”

His first big break came in 1999, when he landed a role as a Texas football player in the financially successful 1999 film, “Varsity Blues.” Caan subsequently appeared in a number of studio films, including co-starring with David Arquette in “Ready To Rumble (2000)” and playing 19th century outlaw Cole Younger opposite actor Colin Farrell in “American Outlaws (2001).”

In 2003, Caan made his directiorial debut with the film “Dallas 362,” which won a prize at the 2003 Las Vegas Film Festival.

Subsequently, Caan has appeared in several low-budget independent films, as well as the box office successes “Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve.In 2005, Caan co-starred with actor Paul Walker in the action film Into the Blue. He is scheduled to reprise his role in Ocean’s Thirteen (2007).

Richard Grieco was born March 23, 1964 in Watertown, NY, USA. His parents are Dick (Italian) & Carolyn (Irish) Grieco. Richard is the oldest child of four. He has one brother, David and two sisters, Elizabeth and Laura.
His interest in performing began in high school where he was also active in sports such as lacrosse, hockey and football. He was so good at the latter sport that he was recruited to play for Central Connecticut University as a linebacker and fullback. After two years he left the school and had established himself as a male model for the Elite Agency in New York by the mid 1980s.

After modeling for such major clients as Calvin Klein, Chanel and Armani for a while, Richard spent two years studying acting with Alice Spieack, Warren Robertson and Wally Strauss.

In 1986 he landed his first television role as Rick Gardner on the ABC daytime soap One Life to Live and remained with the show through 1987, the year he moved to Los Angeles and began working as a guest star on such television shows as Who’s the Boss?, Rags to Riches, The Big Apple Blues and The Bronx Zoo.

In 1988, he got the guest role as Officer Dennis Booker at 21 Jump Street, Fox’s extremely successful TV-show starred Johnny Depp. However, Richard was such popular that he became an series regular. A year later he got his own show the spin-off Booker which ran until 1990. Though the series didn’t last long on network television, it has had success in syndication.
In 1991, Richard received the ShoWest’s “Male Star of Tomorrow” award from the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO). That same year he made his debut in the James Bond spoof If Looks Could Kill. Additional films have included Mobsters, with Christian Slater, Tomcat, Born to Run and so on. Since then, Richard has built a solid career appearing in features ranging. In 1995, he was also star of another short-lived television series, Marker.

In addition to his film and television talents, Richard has found success as a singer, a side career he launched in 1994. After started out with the Dunmore Band and gaining a large following among Los Angeles club hoppers he signed a record contract with the German label Edel Records in 1995.

The released CD “Waiting for the Sky to Fall” became a smash hit in Europe. Richard is a race car enthusiast and owner of seven Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He also enjoys writing, painting and poetry.
