Hale Appleman, born January 17, 1986, in New York City, New York, is an American actor, best known for his role as Tobe in the 2007 horror film, “Teeth”.
Appleman was educated at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, pursuing a BFA degree in Acting, and also attended French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts, a summer camp in upstate New York.
Appleman’s first acting role came at the age of 20, when he played a minor role of Elliot in the movie “Beautiful Ohio”, a coming of age drama/comedy set in the seventies, based on the short story by Ethan Canin.
In 2007, Hale starred in his first horror movie, “Teeth”, about a high school female student who covers she has a physical advantage when she becomes the object of male violence. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and became one of the most talked-about horror films at the Sundance Film Festival that year.
