Marcel Nguyen, born September 8, 1987 in Munich, Germany, is a German gymnast with Vietnamese roots.
Nguyen began gymnastics at the age of four. Having natural talent with the arts and techniques, he rose from D to B squad. At age 15, he became the German junior champion on parallel bars, runner-up on rings and third in vault. That same year, he took part in the World Championships in Melbourne for the first time and placed 16th on the parallel bars.
In 2012, Nguyen was nominated for the Olympic Games in London and won Silver medal in the Men’s Individual All-Around event. It was the first Individual All-Around medal for a male German since 1936.
