FILIPINO INDIE GAY CINEMA
The movers and shakers of Philippine independent cinema may not want to admit it but the success of its gay indie cinema ‘division’, is probably the only bright spot and although they have constantly maligned that part of their ‘industry’, it’s the only earning type of indie movie that can reach an audience that actually cares about their product. The reality is, they can pour their hearts into an indie project, but if the Pinoy audience does not care about it, then, it’s like a death wish.
So why do I still support Filipino indie gay movies? Well, definitely not for their uplifting storylines or charismatic auteurs.
1. The hot actors – and there’s a long line of them, just begging to get their knickers off! Each time an indie movie is released, I get excited to know who they’re going to introduce next! There’s a long list of hunks in gay indie cinema – Coco Martin, Marco Morales, Josh Ivan Morales, Andro Morgan, and more – who were just as willing to take it all off when the scene warranted it.
Well, did I say I had a list? Nahhh…that’s the only reason why I care to shell out P161 pesos and waste 2 hours inside the cinema – just ogle at those heavenly bodies!
