Movie Review: Pitik Bulag

I decided to put the DVD of Pitik Bulag tonight and the only saving grace for this movie is Marco Alcaraz and the scene where he dances like a macho dancer.  Otherwise, it’s a big yawn!  Paloma shows her boobies in the beginning and that’s it.  The story is ok but not very well executed.  That Neri guy is now so fat!  Too bad for him.  Keep that remote on forward when you’re bored already.

TV HUNK: TV Host and Amazing

I’ve always had the hots for this guy and it’s not difficult to see why! He not only has the body of a finely chiseled athlete, he also is very articulate and smart.  Now, I usually watch him in his two TV hosting jobs for The Duke in AXN, and in Sports Unlimited in ABS-CBN Channel 2, a local Filipino channel.  I enjoy watching him in The Duke, as he and Rovilson tease their female cohost, especially when the topic is about sex.  In Sports Unlimited, it’s fun to see him shirtless most of the time!

Since there is a new edition of the Amazing Race Asia, I reminisce about the achievement of Marc (and his teammate, Rovilson Fernandez) as they placed 3rd during their own edition of this race.

Luis Manzano Bares

I won’t be surprised if a certain percentage of the people who watched ‘Who’s That Girl’ came for that scene where Luis goes nekkid.  It’s a good thing I caught it since I felt drowsy towards the middle of the movie and before I knew it, Luis was already in full monty!  I don’t know though why he was nekkid in that part of the movie – and why the whole family was standing there in front of him.

This is the second movie of Luis’ that I’ve seen him play lead and he’s getting better at it.  This is just a run-of-the mill comedy but I’ve seen that Luis is now more comfortable acting, considering that he’s more well-known as a host than an actor. He should act more because he could definitely offer us more, considering the gene pool that he comes from.

This is a role which James Marsden can do in his sleep!  However, he is just so adorable here, I just had to write about it.  He also does a great job acting here, since I think when they shot this movie, he only had a blue screen to interact with!

Virile Boat Men in ‘Sagwan’

All the elements of titillation geared towards its captive gay audience is in this movie. Tall, virile, moreno, handsome men – all of them new to me, meaning, I haven’t seen them in previous films; the usual awakening of the senses to man-to-man sex from a supposedly heterosexual man; the token girlfriend; and a bunch of screaming beauty queen wannabe faggots for comedic effect.You will like the men here since they are new and they do look quite macho. Otherwise, this is more of a A Newbie 101’s Guide on how to find your next sexcapade. The denouement also is quite surprising since it really panders to the fantasy of a gay man where two supposedly straight men make out. Oh well, this is a movie after all, and in lala-land, things can happen without any consequences. In real life, that man pretending to be straight and macho and interested in the ladies, who kisses and fucks another man, is really a queer quietly screaming to get out of the closet.

Ryan Dungo and Dennis Torres

Ryan Dungo (the one in black) and Dennis Torres (the one in blue) play two boatmen who does tricks in this indie movie entitled ‘Sagwan’.  They are boatmen by trade and they bring tourists around their beautiful place – and not only that, they apparently bring their customers to heaven also!  Anyhow, find out how these two guys get on each other too – and bring each other to heaven as well!

Hunks – Daniel Wu

I admit that when Daniel Wu was on the cover of a magazine, I would most likely buy it!  That’s how I was so into him those days!  I even watched his movies when they were shown in the theaters.  He had a comedy with Miriam Yeung which I liked a lot!  He played a chef there who cooked French food!  He even spoke un petit francais!  I also bought the DVD for Bishonen because he was there and he had a shower scene with Terence Yin!  And he was hot there too!

Daniel Wu Plays Architect

I’ve always been a big fan of Daniel Wu, and when I lived in HK before, I made sure I watched all of his films.  He’s just the quintessential icon of cuteness!  I’ve even heard him speak French in one of his movies!  Anyhow, I just had to see him in Don’t Go Breaking My Heart in my last visit to HK.  In the movie, he plays an architect who finds passion again in his work, after meeting Gao Yuanyuan’s character.  He has no shirtess scenes in the movie (c’est dommage) but I’m glad his character cut his hair midway into the movie.  He’s just not really sexy in that ‘homeless’ look.  I was happy too that his character got the girl in the end.   Deservedly so, though.  That proposal scene in the end was really ‘major major’!

Coco Martin

I’m happy that local mainstream showbiz has embraced Coco Martin. I’ve been watching him for ages doing independent movies which allows him to show the range of his acting talent.  I just watched him again tonight on cable in Tambolista, a movie released in 2008, and he shines again in his role as the caring older brother to Jiro Manio’s character. His acting here is just effortless and believable and it helps that he has that cute moreno face. He has several shirtless scenes here – showing off his boy-man body to full effect.

The Five Things I Liked in ‘Burlesque’

I really enjoyed this movie!  It’s the first ‘musical’-type of movie I saw this year and it did not disappoint!  These are the five things I love about this movie!

1.  Cam Gigandet’s body!!  All the ladies who watched the movie could only drool at his “Famous Amos” cookies!
2.  When Christina Aguilera sang ‘Express’, my most favorite song from this movie!  They did exactly the same choreography that they did in the American Music Awards.  Lovet!

3. When Cher sang “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me”, it felt like I was watching her concert!

4.  Kristen Bell’s solo numbers in the beginning of the movie.  As a blonde, she seems helpless, nice and ditsy.  As a morena, she is tough, bitchy and bad!

5.  The lover of Stanley Tucci and Stanley Tucci in all his scenes.  He has been doing all these gay man support roles pretty well since The Devil Wears Prada!
