American Football Player Turned Model – Sean James
Sean James, born March 15,1969, in Meridian, Mississippi, is an American football player turned model.
James started his football career in 1991, when he was signed as rookie free agent with the Minnesota Vikings. He was a two sports athlete at Missouri State University, and an All Conference sprinter in the 60 meters, 100 meters,and long jump, and has long jump 25 feet 3 inches (7.62 m). He was ranked 2nd in the NCAA in kick off returns.
James played his high school football at Hutchinson High School in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was All County and All State Running back, and was a three sport letterman in Football, Basketball and Track and Field. As one of the states top high school long jumpers and sprinters, James had the best long jump in the state of Kansas at the 1987 KU Relays with a jump of 23 feet 6 1/2 inches (7.16 m).
After James professional football career ended, James went on to sign a contract with the prestigious Ford Modeling Agency, appearing in several advertising campaigns, including Hanes, Fubu, Avon Products, and Phat Farm. James is the Co-Founder and President of BraverJames Student Athletes a nonprofit organization in New York City. BJSA provides scholarships for underprivileged youth.
Off the field, James has participated with Teen and Youth groups, Fast Break Kids a after school and weekend program where he helps coach youth teaching them the fundamentals of the game. He also Is a motivational speaker at The Hospital For Special Surgery in New York City, for Lupus Chat Groups for Teens and Parents about health and fitness.
