Max Whitlock, born January 13, 1993, in Hemel Hempstead, Great Britain, is an English gymnast.
Whitlock achieved his medal in 2010 when he was part of the team which won the silver medal for England in the gymnastics in the men’s artistic all-around team event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He also won the silver medal in the men’s pommel horse and a bronze medal in the men’s horizontal bar at the same games.
Whitlock is a member of Britain’s gymnastics team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he helped the team claim a bronze medal at the team final.
Steeve Guenot, born October 2, 1985 in Chalon-sur-Saône, France, is a French wrestler who won the Gold medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and bronze in the 2012 London Olympics.
Guenot was born in a family of wrestlers: his father is a referee; his mother a club manager; and his older brother Christophe also practices wrestling.
Guenot started his professional wrestling career at the age of 17. At 18, he joined the France National team but was too young to participate in the Olympic Games of Athens 2004.
At the age of 22, Guenot finally made it to his first Olympics in Beijing. He gave France its first gold medal at the 2008 Games and also became the first Olympic Champion for France in Men’s Greco-Roman Wrestling since Emile Poilvé, in the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.
In 2012, Guenot won the bronze medal during the London Olympics. His older brother also won a bronze medal in the -74 kg category.
Marcel Nguyen, born September 8, 1987 in Munich, Germany, is a German gymnast with Vietnamese roots.
Nguyen began gymnastics at the age of four. Having natural talent with the arts and techniques, he rose from D to B squad. At age 15, he became the German junior champion on parallel bars, runner-up on rings and third in vault. That same year, he took part in the World Championships in Melbourne for the first time and placed 16th on the parallel bars.
In 2012, Nguyen was nominated for the Olympic Games in London and won Silver medal in the Men’s Individual All-Around event. It was the first Individual All-Around medal for a male German since 1936.
